off for a bit
Posted On 06/08/2008 18:27:57

Well, went to doc last Tuesday i think it was.  He took me off work and check up on Friday.  Pain pills and steroids.  I went back friday and i have to have physically therapy.  I sure hope it helps.  I was hoping to feel better by now but it is still pretty bad.  I try to use my arm but it hurts when i use it even a little bit.  They came and got my truck the SAME day the doc took me off work.  Literally an hour after i got home.  I hope they fix that thing.  I feel it was extremely negligent of them NOT to fix it when i kept telling them about the problems with it, now i am the one paying for it, physically and financially.  I have to rely on my daughter to do alot for me, even brush my hair i cant lift my right arm up even to my shoulder level.  I have been doing the stretches the doc gave me to do.  I should hear from physical therapy this week on when and how often i go.  I am no wuss when it comes to pain but man this HURTS.  my daughter drives me to my appts and jeeze just the 8 minute ride there hurts like heck.  I hope everyone is well.  Drive safe.  Hopefully i will be back on road as soon as i am bettter

ouchhhhhh

finally home after a bit over a month out.  I have been driving solo since i went back out.  to long to get into.  all will work out though.  anyway, my trk is a 2005 freightshaker classic.  I love the long and tall trks.  But my trk has issues, it likes to come out of gear.  I hit a bump and out it comes, so i had to hold it into gear.  Imagine going up elk mountain and it popping out of gear.  ...fun...NOT.. i have been telling shop about problem for over 3 weeks, i guess it is because i am a driver, or a female driver they think i dont know what i am talking about.  They just want to adjust the dang clutch..it isnt the clutch.  so anyway, i had to physically hold it into gear with pressure on the gearshift.  imagine the roads thru tx, la, and such.  the vibrations and every bump went thru my body.  now i am off on wc. my whole right side kills me, i cant even stay on puter for to long, hurts my shoulder typing etc.  my left knee has tendonitis too.  oh well, the positive of it. hubby has a new job once he gets his md cdl. home everynite and weekends.  We will be moving up there once all is settled.  I got to spend some great time with the girls and grand kids the day i got home.  i will miss them when we move.  you all take care and drive safe.  you know that guy that got hit in phoenix last week walking across I10.  man oh man, i saw them scooping him up and putting on stretcher.  talk about goosebumps.  so sad.

take care, keep the rubberside down

home sweet home
Posted On 04/25/2008 17:31:43

Hi all,

we are finally on home time.  It has been to long since we have been able to enjoy home.  It was odd walking thru the front door this time. It was my first time home since my youngest went to germany.  Oldest came over and stayed the nite, chatted and hung out with steven while i was sleepin.  We had been sick for the last week.  Some ucky virus that makes you feel like you have motion sickness....not a good thing when in a moving truck ughhh.  I drove our bronco home from INDY while snoopy went and dropped the last load.  when i was leaving indy i got stuck in construction.. man i got so pissed.  I look in my rear view and here is a truck sitting right on my bumper, and i mean RIGHT on it.  I was getting so pissed.  I got on phone with snoopy and told him i was gonna set my brakes (forgot i was in bronco ) and go tell the truck driver off.  Of course i was told DO NOT.  ugh. it really pissed me off though. I cant stand to be tailgated. If they want to take their lives at risk fine but dont put mine at risk.  Grand kids are coming over tomorrow, we are talking about planting flowers.  Gotta clean the truck and do laundry then relax.  Snoopy has a sleep study sunday night and we are back on road tuesday.  when i went to sleep yesterday at 11am i woke up this am at 7am, wow guess i needed the rest.   It is so nice to be home though.  Ask me in a day and i will be itchy to get back on the road though hah.  stay safe all.

resting in ca
Posted On 04/20/2008 09:06:20

well, we did finally get another truck. they got us a 07 pete 387 with an apu. it is a good runnin trk. had only 48,000 miles on it. so we are getting to break it in. solid black, only werner sign on it is on the top haha. been hunting for a place to get our signs made for the doors with our handles. miles have picked up thank goodness. we have been going pretty much from tx or la to ca and back and forth. yesterday we got to calexico ca about mid day and were able to take some time to take it easy. hubby took me clothes shoppin woohoo. sometimes i like to be able to wear something other than my black jeans an tshirts. you ladies know what i mean. the apu on this thing is great. dont have to worry about gettin uncomfortable when we stop and shut the truck off. it is a bit different than driving the kw we had though. but it drives great, so quiet.  had to learn how to sit in the lane when i am driving since it is diff than the kw lol.  weather has been great.  had some bad storms the other am but other than that all is good.  still trying to figure out where everything goes in our trk lol.  hubby has more clothes than me .  prob will end up puttin top bunk down and using it as storage.  we did that before in our old freightshaker.  home time is coming up.  havnt been home since feb.  well i hope everyone is doing good.  stay safe

just another day in paradise...NOT hah

well, still here in dallas.  hubby and i decided to tag team them lol.  I dealt with them personally here on site and he started calling.  He ended up talking to driver relations, our sub DM (ours is out sick dang it) her supervisor and his supervisor.  So he gets a call back from our Dm's sup like 10 minutes later.  he is PISSED.  says he is taking care of it yadayada.  He got 3 emails from the others ha.  Last time he told us he was going to take care of stuff we sat for 7 days with him not taking care of anything.  anyway enough griping.  stuff will happen today i am sure.

I am going to meet a friend who lives here in dallas, go have lunch, get my hair done etc.  I am going to keep the faith that all is going to work out as it should.

stay safe all

Life of a trucker
Posted On 04/12/2008 13:34:01

Being a trucker doesnt mean just sitting on your butt all day (or nite) and driving forward like many non drivers think.  We deal daily with different situations, weather, construction, idiot 4wheelers and yes, even other truckers.  Not all of our days are pleasant and easy going, oh how i wish they were.  I do my best to take the bad with the good.  i am a very layed back person, maybe it is my age, i dont know.  But when do we know it is time to move on? You stick it out with a company that has been good to you in the past, no real problems with dealing with the issues that we face when we have breakdowns etc.  But when is enough enough?  We are sitting in a hotel in Dallas, TX now.  We were on our way to Loredo.  Driving on I30w and the truck goes into auto shut down.  You remember that 6 days we were broke down from it not even 2 weeks ago in LA?  you got it, the radiator has a hole in it again, same place they plugged.  Thank goodness hubby knows his stuff.  We get ahold of breakdown (after 60minutes on hold) and they agreed to let us fill with water and try to get to dallas terminal an hour away.  We stop on way and fill radiator again and jugs up just in case.  upon arriving here we are frustrated of course.  We had to deal with rude and lazy people when we got here.  a very long story.  Now we are waiting to get another truck.  I am just at the point to where i am not sure it is worth it all.  I think about how badly things have been handled lately, from us being ignored by road breakdown for 12 hours in 30 degree weather and my husband having to splice hose himself finally to nite dispatch not paying attention to what is going on with us or our truck.  I know it sounds like complaining, and well it is, i am frustrated.  I am angry. it takes alot to get me to this point and i am at it.  Jackknife i am going to look up that company you told me about.  I look out the window at the sea of blue werner trucks and they said they only have ONE available, it has 285, 000 miles on it.  one??? oh come on.  anyway, we will see where this goes.  so for now, stuck in yet another hotel. hope everyone is safe.  be careful out there and try to enjoy everyday.

storms a comin
Posted On 04/11/2008 08:01:14

we are rollin thru tn now.  nice black line of storms ahead of us.  We are headed for a p/u in AR then on to Loredo tx.  We got our radiator fixed a week ago.  Took 6 days.. 6 days...sheesh.  We arent sure what is going on but miles suck.  Pretty bad when they get like this and we are team.  One good thing though, when we were in CA a few days ago we were able to see my mom , brother and his family.  I havent seen my brother in 16 yrs so it was really nice.  We had a good visit.  I cant stand the CA no idle laws...let them go and try to sleep in their vehicle with no heat on when it is in the low 40's out.  Enough gripin about that, you all know what it is like.  As far as i am concerned we can drop all their cargo off at the CA border and let them come get it. ha.  we finally got a USB card for the interenet so we can access it while on the road.  I had my first experience in driving in L.A. traffic...boy howdy i am glad i dont have to do that all the time.  Hubby said i handled it pretty good though.  well, just wanted to pop in and say hi.  hope you all are doing well, keep the rubber down and the shiny side up.

Stuck in LA
Posted On 04/02/2008 04:36:53

i hope our truck is fixed today.  tired of sitting in a hotel. it has been 7 days now.  Darn radiator.  i have been trying to keep my sleeping the way it should be.  Opposite of hubby , so when we go back on road i wont be messed up.  hopefully we will hear something on truck today.  This is really hurting our pocket book.  Thankfully Werner is paying for hotel and such.
