OK. Been gone for a while and finally got a new internet card. I've been getting some decent runs since getting out on my own. Delivered down in Tx on Friday and had to wait awhile to get a load outta there. I've been told it can take some time getting one. I was sent a load offer later in the evening due to a driver breaking down after picking it up. 1180 miles all for me. lol So, off I go! I'm currently in Ohio picking up a load from Iams. Supposed to be about 44,000lbs of critter food. The load was originally going to New Hampshire, but I reminded the dispatcher that I need to be home on the 20th. They told me I could drop (tcall) the load in the New Kingstown, PA terminal so I can go home. That was really nice of them. Aside from having a hiccup with my truck right now, which I'll have fixed when I'm at home, I'm having a great time with Crete!

Ok everybody, I'm back! I broke my internet card which is why I've been so quiet. Using the Idle aire service right now til I get a new card from Verizon which is $219!!! I about had a heartattack when they told me how much it was gonna be! I like their service which is why I'm staying with them.

Got done with my trainer and issued my own truck. An older one, but I'm hoping that means I'll be able to trade it in sooner. I picked it up at our terminal in Salt Lake City, UT and my first run was 2078 miles!! Whoo hoo! Picked up a load of diapers (don't laugh it was a light load) from Ogden, Ut and delivered to Pittston, Pa. The drivers I've met along the way have been very friendly. Wasn't too sure about a 62mph truck, coming from one that'll do 80mph, but it has actually been relaxing! I know i can't pass Anybody, so I just set the cruise and kick back! lol Well, I'm on my way to Novi, MI with another light load. I'll check back in when I can!

Out here in OR heading to Kent, WA which is S.E. of Tacoma. Have a 8am appt. on Wed. morning, but we're gonna try to del it early. My trainer has talked to her DM about cutting me loose, so now I just have to wait to find out which direction we're headed after we unload and hit up a terminal along the way to get my truck!! We got pretty lucky with a load weighing 12,000lbs from McPherson, KS to Kent, WA. About 1789 miles! Can't wait to see where we go from here!!

Well, I'm done with orientation!! My trainer arrived at the yard on 7/17 in the afternoon. She needed some work done on her truck, so we didn't get going til Fri. am. We p/u a load in York, Pa., or I should say we Waited to p/u for 10hrs!! A load of starbucks coffee that delivers to LaVergne, Tn. tonight at 11pm, so we're down the street waiting again. My trainer tells me we usually dont wait like this. Lucky me lol Hopefully we'll get moving good after this. She says she can cut me loose after a week and a half. Whoo hoo!! She's a nice lady, but prefer to have my own truck and stuff in it and work my own schedule. I'll check back in when I get rollin again.

Made it to orientation up in New Kingstown, PA! They set us up in a pretty decent hotel and are covering breakfast and lunch and giving us a $10 voucher towards dinner. Not bad.  Today was basically taking a road test, getting a drug test and DOT physical and filling out so much paperwork I thought I was joining the military again!! LOL The next 2 days we'll be going over everything there is to know about how Crete does things. There's 8 of us all together. 4 guys and 4 girls. Pretty cool bunch of people. I should be getting on the road by Thursday. I can't wait!!!!!

Well, I'm finally getting back on the road! Crete gave me a call around noon today and said they have a trainer now available. I'll be heading over to their terminal Sunday night. It's about 2hrs from me. Orientation starts Monday at 8am. I'm really excited!! I'll be with the trainer for 3wks and they'll pay me $600 a wk. Once I get my own truck they'll pay 42cpm. Pefect timing cause I've got a serious case of cabin fever. lol Wish me luck!!!!

Well, I've decided to stick it out and wait for Crete. I've looked at other companies and I really don't wanna go with someone else just to get in fast. A friend of mine is letting me stay with him til Crete calls. It's really frustrating, but I believe it's gonna be worth the wait.

Well, I thought that I would be starting orientation with Crete but I'm getting the run around. Even though I've been driving for 9yrs they want me to go out with a trainer. I can understand it's prolly cause I've been with a small co. The recruiter said I was set for June 30th, but the chic in charge of training has no idea when one will be available. I didn't know the latter til after I had quit my job. To top it all my apt. lease is up on the 30th and I'll no longer have a place to live. So, I'm stuck with the dilemma of going with another co. that I really don't like or shacking up with a family member and hoping Crete will have a trainer soon! Not sure what I'm gonna do.
