no one gripes?

I was thinking life in the WWT must be mostly good 'cuz no one is postting any gripes. Could this be true? Have you sat at the counter of a truck plaza {not truck stops anymore} resturant? Did you not hear someone complain about fuel prices, freight rates, fue surcharges, the food prices, or do you all eat out of your truck and stay isolated from the rest of the drivers. Ah almost forgot you keep the C.B. radio off also. Dang it I hate that, roll into a back up and all of  sudden fifty drivers ask what's going on! Duh!!! YEP we all get tired of hearing the same old thing again and again...

Why complain? Who listens? Better yet, Who is doing something about it? Have you called your congresman? Do you belong to one of the groups that stand up for truckers in Washington D C ? If not do you vote? Just so you understand I don't care how you vote so long as you do! Make a statement, raise you voice and be heard.

We all know life on the road can be lonely and unforgiving, not enuff pay, ya da ya da ya da... be strong and lead. Even if it's in the wrong direction, sometimes that what it tkes to make things happen right. I certianly do not belive everything the goverment tells me. They lie better than the old rug in a dog house, with more fleas.

Hoppy Trails, 'cuz I'm just hopping down the bunny trail looking for some bunny's tail... Never mind she's at home workin two jobs 'cuz my name isn't JR and she's not Sue Ellen...

Speak, no act now or forever hold your peace

Seems like someone came up with a saying that "complaining goes along with the job" for some reason.

That reason as we all know, is that we don't stick together to become a large enough reason to approach any resolve for the issues that plague this industry.  For some reason drivers feel the companies control everything and don't realize that without drivers (even for a week) these companies would see why they are truly in business ... DRIVERS.

We all know this, and they all know we will never jeopodize our paycheck, so things continually decline at our expense.

Take for example the issues that companies cry they have major costs for this and that.  I say BOO HOO.  They waste more money in their deceptive recruiting tactics.  The money that was spent initiating paperwork, background checks, drug tests, physicals, motels, travel and meals could have been utilized towards better results in the efforts to hire if and I repeat IF they told you straight up what the REAL deal would be.

The money that is so scrap-hazardly wasted could be refunded back to good drivers in higher wages, better detention, nicer perks and so on.
But instead to compensate for the irrational mishandling of cashflow they steal from your wages by cutting back things that make driving a truck less than desirable.  If the stock holders of these companies would really open their eyes at the money they were losing in their portfolios they would break the cycle.

Have you ever noticed that most recruiters
1- Have never even been in a truck ... how can they sell you the idea if they never even experienced it first hand?
2 - Don't know the difference of trucks ... I had one to tell me that they're red.
3 - Don't know truck to trailer ratio ...  I had one to tell me they were 10 speeds.
These are just a few broad examples.  Which leads me to ask ... WHY are they doing a job they don't have any idea of what they are trying to perform.

I could go on and since 1988 (CDL obtained) I see nothing but decline and deceit in this industry.  I am so fed up that I DO want to take action.  If I could afford to I would represent the TRUE ISSUES that face us drivers and do a hell of job in trying to confront some of the sour conditions that we are faced with.

I am a member of OOIDA and I will tell you from my experience, I am not impressed.
