Started solo. Teamed up. Went solo again. Teamed up again. Now I'm solo again.
The only thing I miss about teaming is the runs out west. I get stuck mostly in the midwest and east as a solo. My creative solution is to put in for time off in CA and then cancel it once I get out there. HAHAHA!
My advice is that if you can run team then you can run solo unless you had an arrangement whereby there were aspects of the job that you never had to do (my former team driver never backed after her upgrade test...her husband did all the backing...so I had to teach her how all over again).
Take your time until you get your confidence...even if you have to pull the brakes, close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Do not get in a rush.
If you are looking at switching companies, I can tell you that I *love* mine- KLLM out of Mississippi. They have been very good to me and all of our male drivers have been very respectful of me and the other female drivers. I have never had a problem. The company is very responsive if you have an issue or question about anything.
If you have any specific questions or concerns I'll be happy to see if I can help you with them. Just let me know.
