Da biz as I see it nowdays is scarey beyond words. Trucking companies laying off experienced drivers for brand new lower paid, accidents waiting to happen drivers. Is Halliburton (sp) still hiring drivers for overseas positions? Might be the only way I can keep my recient experience active. I have no quarrel with new drivers at all. Just the companies that don't run their operations department and shops efficiently. The companies today are taking the professionalism right out of being a truck driver. My mentor (a retired O/O) once told me that companies will soon have it to where truck driving is an hourly wage at about the same rate as the kid flipping burgers at the McDonnalds down the street. God, I hope I'm takin that dirt nap by then. I am very glad I dont need to take the I90/94 to get to the north side of Madison. I'm afraid of being driven over by one of Swifts drivers who cant even speak english or read the signs. And don't even get me started on the drivers who can't read a tire guage or dip stick, or even check lights. And those that just have to be home every weekend! argh! Well now that I got my blood pressure up enough to shovel snow I will leave with a simple question. Does anyone have Halliburton's (sp) contact information? Shoot it's gotta be safer there dodging bullets than Swift drivers, right? Be safe out there guys n gals!
