Please don't get me wrong either some places do try blame drivers frist and I will admit that I'm hard on the drivers its not that the im the best or any where close to it. I make my fair share of mistakes. like you also I grew up in the trking industry and me I have became more cynical over the yrs. although i do agree to what you have said! but it is not always fair to judge the Trucker evertime something goes wrong.Here in Missouri they judge them ALL the time and it's just not fair! I have been in a Family of trucking since i was born and i have been on and off the road i do know alot that goes on and realize there are ignorant drivers out there but i have to say the majority of them are 4 wheelers.Not to long ago in my State there was a girl who got out of her car on i70 and literally danced on the interstate and a Truck driver ran her over and "HE" got in trouble for it because they expected him to stop on a dime. These are the kind of "ignorant" people i am talking about i should have made myself more clear sorry about that!

The one thing it never ever does on tv is give the whole story. I've been at this for 25yrs now I put that in thier just so know I didn't start yesterday. What the news showed is always slanted but DO NOT be so quick to defend the drivers  You have no idea of what took place only the ones thier know the whole and correct story.

To answer your question of why we got bad press do you have any idea how many times I see a car go by me and I do only 65 as fast as the trk goes so the car goes by at 70+ and what do i see a trk dead in his butt maybe a car length at that rate of speed thier is no way out if the car screws up. It drives me nuts that car tailgated like that how do they feel in the car about the driver of that trk because he is not a trk driver he's just another idiot in a trk. Cars screw up all the time that is no excuse for us to be idiots all we can do is are best and share the road
